Are you a historian of the Cold War period, with expertise on the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in global perspective? The Wellcome-funded Connecting Three Worlds project seeks a postdoctoral researcher to work on Soviet/East European health internationalism with a focus on the African connections.
You will become part of a team of researchers at Birkbeck researching on Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa and their links with the socialist East.

There will also be scope for you to develop independent research within the project’s themes. Experience of working on London-based archival, library and particularly newspaper collections from the Soviet and East European region would be a strong advantage, along with subject expertise on Soviet/East European-African relations.
The Connecting Three Worlds Project is a Wellcome-funded Collaborative Award based across Birkbeck, Exeter and UNAM, Mexico. It pioneers anew history of global health that, for the first time, incorporates the socialist world during the Cold War and after.
