Founded more than 15 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 350 people operating throughout North America and in Europe. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser. DV Energy is a rapidly growing division that specializes in trading crude oil, refined products, natural gas, and related energy markets across US, Europe, and Asia. Our proprietary risk management and trading methodologies along with a strong ability to adapt to changing conditions has allowed DV Energy to grow into one of the largest financial participants within the global energy complex. Overview As a Direct Trading Intern, you'll work with our direct trading team in a business development capacity. You will learn about the oil & gas industry and develop a pipeline of counterparties to trade with. You will learn about the methodology of trade and proprietary systems that allow you to do so, along with business development and sales techniques. You will contact counterparties across the globe with a particular focus in Asia and the Middle East, developing relationships with decision makers. You will engage in one-to-one conversations in order to extract final deals from researched counterparties, which requires attention to detail. Summer 2023 internships will be available in our London office. Requirements
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Business Administration, Financial Studies or PPE
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent Mandarin Chinese and English
- Strong interest in energy markets, sales and trading
- Possess a strong work ethic and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new concepts
