About our Charity, Goleudy
Goleudy is a charity that prevents homelessness by providing housing, creating opportunities, and tackling poverty and social exclusion. Our job is to improve the lives of people who are threatened with, or experience homelessness, a housing crisis, or mental health (MH) issues and trauma.
We have been operating for 47 years and cover 4 local authority areas.
Our approach to supporting staff is compassionate and flexible, and we take pride in the friendly, strong team ethos in all of our projects
About the Hostel Support Worker Role
Goleudy supports individuals aged 18+ who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in Swansea. We offer a direct-access rapid rehousing project with rooms and emergency beds. Our aim is to support individuals to find their own accommodation.

You will work closely with residents to identify their goals and aspirations. The role will also include supporting people with:

Required skills for a Hostel Support Worker
- Positive attitude towards personal resilience and working with people who face multiple disadvantages/exclusions
- Organised with excellent time management skills and able to work flexibly across several project types and client groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to understand and explain complex issues succinctly to clients, colleagues, and managers
- Knowledge or background of working with people in housing, support, social care, health, education or other voluntary sector settings.
- Interest in housing-related support services and the wider social issues of homelessness, health, mental health, substance use, criminal justice and benefit/welfare system.
