Lloyds Banking Group is Britain’s largest bank and the largest provider of digital financial products in the UK, so the role of auditor is an important one – managing risks and ensuring the correct measures are in place to protect against them.

This 4.5 year programme takes your through your fully funded Level 4 and then Level 7 Audit apprenticeships while building your skills and knowledge through your day to day work.

Job Description About the programme: Starting in September 2023, we’ll support your fully funded study to professional qualify as a Chartered Internal Auditor with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors. Over a 4.5 year period, you’ll start by completing the Level 4 Internal Audit Practitioner apprenticeship, before moving onto the Level 7 Internal Audit Professional apprenticeship which is also a Masters qualification. You will rotate through placements during your apprenticeship where everything you’ll learn will be relevant and readily applicable in your day-to-day role. The apprenticeship scheme will give you significant insight into our entire business. Our central role offers a unique perspective on how Lloyds Banking Group functions. This added exposure can be a valuable stepping-stone towards senior leadership positions in the future. You are a permanent member of staff as soon as your start and our commitment to your growth and development reflects this, we want to support you to succeed! By the end of this programme, you’ll have a clear path for progression within Lloyds Banking Group and a firm understanding of your strengths and career goals. Plus upon successfully completing the apprenticeship you’ll not only be a Chartered Internal Auditor, but you’ll also have your Master’s in Internal Audit Management & Consultancy! What you’ll learn: As part of your role, you’ll learn all about performing audits to test processes, identifying gaps in those processes and help to recommend steps to ensure the highest risks are effectively managed. As an Apprentice Internal Auditor, your placements will be in different teams:
  • Teams that work with the Business: these teams look at how the bank works for our customers. You’ll get to explore diverse areas such as Retail Banking, Insurance and Commercial Banking
  • Teams that focus on Risk: these teams look at the engine room of the organisation; the specialist areas that allow bank operations to work as fluidly as possible. You could find yourself anywhere from People to Data or Finance to Cyber Security.
To broaden your skills and learn how other business areas work across the organisation, you’ll also complete a placement outside Internal Audit in a different part of Lloyds Banking Group.   • Minimum 5 GCSEs Grades 4 -9 (inc. Maths at minimum 5 and English Language) and
  • Minimum of 112 UCAS points under the 2017 tariff point system (e.g. BBC at A Level or equivalent qualifications)

If successful, you’ll be invited to attend an assessment centre as part of the selection process. We’ll let you know as soon as we can if you have been successful at each stage. The assessment centres will be taking place from week commencing 10 April 2023. These will be face to face in our London office at 25 Gresham Street.
