Shaws Wood is a 39 bedded home for people living with dementia, it is a rewarding place to work where we aim to make a meaningful difference to the lives of those that live here. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, flexible staff whose focus is on providing the highest quality service at all times. Is that you?
Currently we have two vacancies to join our team for Day shifts at our Residential Care Home in Strood, Rochester, Kent full time/part time hours including our 14.00-20.00 shift, with alternate weekend working 18 - 36 hour contract available. Unfortunately we do not offer sponsorship at this time.
About You
As a Healthcare Assistant under the guidance of a senior member of staff you will be taking responsibility for the physical and emotional well-being and social needs of our Residents. Assisting Residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals delivering a level of care that comes from the heart. It’s about making sure our Residents never lose their dignity or sense of individuality as you get involved in general activities within the care home. And, whether you’re helping someone with limited mobility to learn to use an aid, offering emotional support to a confused or distressed Resident or delivering care to someone at the end of their life, you’ll always have their well-being in mind above anything else.
Experience preferred but for the right candidate; we’ll provide full training and the opportunity to gain qualifications once probation successfully completed and of course ongoing training, so, it’s a great opportunity to learn something new. We are passionate about ensuring that our current and future colleagues are able to develop their career within the health and care sector.
