Position Overview & Specifications
You will spend time with a gentleman with a learning disability, visiting him 6 times a year.
He is in his 60’s and lives in a nice care home in Reigate. He loves cars and collects vintage toy cars. He also likes listening to musical, watching movies or looking at things on his iPad. He enjoys going to the local cafe and park to enjoy a coffee, something you can join him to do in time. He is very quiet and reserved and does not communicate verbally, but would really appreciate spending some time with a friendly visitor.
You will spend each visit getting to know him and joining in with his favourite activities. By visiting every other month, you will make a huge difference and fulfil his parents wishes.
You will be introduced and get to know him with the support of Mencap staff.
When & where do I need to be available?
The times required can be flexible to your availability. Try to avoid just after lunch times, as like most people he enjoys a nap! Visits are every 2 months.
Visits will last around 1-1.5 hours.
You will make 6 visits per year, and we ask for a minimum commitment of 1 year.
