WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN ASSISTANT SHOP MANAGER TO HELP MANAGE OUR TAUNTON RSPCA CHARITY SHOP (£10.42/hr, 5 days across Monday-Saturday, 30hours/week)
The RSPCA South West Somerset Branch works to improve the welfare of animals in our local area and provides significant help with the cost of veterinary treatment for those on low income.
Our charity shops play a vital part in generating the income to allow us to continue with our welfare work and we are now looking for highly motivated individual who is keen to take on the challenge of working within the charity retail sector full-time based at our Charity Shop in Taunton. Flexibility and the ability to travel to other shops in our branch area will be required for training and absence cover.
The successful candidate will be able to fulfil the following job description:-
- In the absence of the shop manager the overall day-to-day responsibility for the premises, ensuring compliance to the highest standards in health and safety, tidiness, cleanliness, and organisation
- Accountable for the effective management of staff, volunteers, premises, stock, resources and administration.
- Maximising sales and minimising costs in order to support the charitable work of our local branch.
- Motivating and training staff and volunteers to a high standard, creating a good team spirit.
- Be proactive in recruiting and training volunteers and promoting Branch and Society initiatives and campaigns to raise awareness of the charity.
- Responsible for the financial management and the opening and closing of the shop.
- Responsible for the delivery of excellent customer service
- Presenting a professional image to staff, volunteers and customers at all times reflecting the image of the RSPCA
- Ensuring the shop, shop window and store area is kept clean, well presented and clear of obstructions.
- The hours for full-time will be 5 days on a rota basis 09:30 -16:30 Monday to Saturday
