Position Overview & Specifications

Portfolio Lead - Route 29

Grade: 3B+2 - £32,020 - £33,820
Working Hours: 36 hours including weekends and evenings and sleep ins to meet service needs
Contract Type: Permanent

Salford City Council has undertaken a full review of it’s pay structure which will be implemented from 1 April 2023, the new Salary for this post will be £33,820 to £35,411.

About Route 29
Route 29 is working collaboratively to meet the needs of our most vulnerable children and families in Salford. Route 29 will focus on providing a robust and asset based intervention to young people aged 12 – 17 years who are on the edge of care, in care or at risk of placement instability. We believe that Route 29 will embrace a closer working relationship with adolescents – a ‘working with’ rather than a ‘doing to’ approach.

Our hub which will provide residential and outreach support will have a dedicated team which includes:

· Two Deputy Managers

· Key workers who support young people and their families within the hub and by outreach work in the community

· Portfolio Leads (keyworkers with additional levels of responsibility)

· Life coach (clinical psychologist)

· Speech and Language therapist

· Educational Psychologist

· Two Nurses

· Two community foster families who work out of the hub and are part of the professional team

About the Role
Route 29 are seeking Portfolio Leads in 3 area:

Residential – You will work closely with the Registered manager and assistant manager and be based within the residential home at Route 29 to create a safe, homely, supportive environment for young people who reside in the home and support staff to follow correct procedures to enhance practice within the home

Health and Wellbeing – You will work closely with the Life Coach and partner agencies who can support the health and wellbeing of the young people and families we work with, offering sound advice on interventions, signposting and pathways to appropriate services to meet the needs of service users

Accommodation and Transitions – You will work closely with partner agencies in 16+ provisions and fostering to support young people and families who are experiencing changes in accommodation, ensuring where possible transitions are planned with support from key professionals.

As a Portfolio Lead you will have key responsibility for providing support to achieve positive outcomes for staff and the families and young people we work with. You will lead in a specific area and network with other key services relevant to your role creating robust pathways and step ups/step downs for or keyworks to access. You will provide supervisions to a small number of keyworkers and ensure that practise is consistent across the team.You will work as part of a multi agency team you will display a genuine commitment to the needs and welfare of vulnerable children and adults to ensure the best outcomes for them. Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check – currently £38.00. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £9.50 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £38.00.
