Position Overview & Specifications
This individual will undergo training to enable them to deliver a high standard of dispensary based pharmacy services to our patients. There will be a requirement to travel between our Newark and Kingsmill Hospital sites during the start of your employment to enable completion of training.
You must:
- Hold a BTEC/NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent).
- Have experience working as a Dispensing Assistant.
- To label and dispense prescriptions.
- Reception Duties - Receive prescriptions from patients, carers and other Trust staff.
- Preparing medicines and drug charts to be returned to the wards and clinics.
- Filing of prescriptions.
- Counselling patients on their medications.
- Maintenance of stock, stationary and sundries in the dispensary.
- General housekeeping duties.
- Ward and department top ups of stocks – Newark only.
