Position Overview & Specifications
Ranil Jayawardena MP is conscious that it is often hard for young people to gain experience in politics.
Thatβs why, as he has done in many of his seven years in Parliament, he is willing to offer a highly motivated individual this opportunity, fitting flexibly around any other commitments they may have, e.g. studying and paid work etc.
This role will place you at the heart of his parliamentary and constituency work for North East Hampshire, providing valuable insight into his work as the local Member of Parliament, offering the opportunity to gain political and campaigning experience too, should you wish.
Duties include- Diary management;
- Data entry and analysis;
- Assisting with letter writing and literature design;
- Resident surveying;
- Office administration;
- Organising events;
- Drafting press releases; and
- Digital communication.
- Polite and professional conduct;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Hardworking, flexible, pro-active team player;
- Strong communication and organisational skills and able to take the initiative;
- Good computer and technology skills;
- A creative side; and
- Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
